Kalahari

Born to be king of the jungle;

To roam and to hunt and be free.

Nurtured and taught by his mother

skills and talents he needed to be

a powerful king of the jungle,

fulfilling his proud destiny!

Stolen away as ababy

carried off to a far away land,

sold as a pet to a stranger,

forced to eat and sleep on command.

This majestic beast from the jungle,

caged and beaten til he barely could stand.

Bruised and abused and neglected,

he lay next to death in a cage.

Tiger Haven came to his rescue,

his infirmity filled them with rage.

They carried him home to their refuge

and Kalahari's tale turned a new page.

No, he'll never be king of the jungle

but his health is restored and he's strong.

No longer caged, he roams freely:

and hunts his own food all day long.

Kalahari is content in his refuge

and forgives those who treated him wrong.

When at first I heard of Kalihari,

his sad tale of woe broke my heart.

So, I sent money to adopt him and

feed him, and just do my part

to try to make up for the horrors imposed

by humans; and give Kalahari a new start .
