Two-forty-four had a Murphy bed
that folded against the wall.
It was fitted with a safety catch
to prevent a sudden fall.

The reason for the Murphy bed
was to provide us with more space,
so conferences and meetings
could conveniently take place.

Naomi entered to clean the room,
convinced that the bed was secure.
As she walked by, she bumped it
and it, in anger, assaulted her.

We took her to the Doctor,
who declared her ankle, sprained,
while the bed in two-forty-four,
it's innocence maintained.

We only have Naomi's word
as to what really did occur.
Did She accidentally provoke the bed
into viciously attacking her?
