The Unicorn

I looked out of my window
early one beautiful morn,
and saw frolicking on my lawn
a magical Unicorn.
-
She moved with grace and elegance,
her hair was white as snow,
her eyes were of the purest blue
and she gave off a gentle glow.
-
I was afraid to let her see me,
for fear she'd run away,
but she turned and looked at me,
saying "What a lovely day."
-
"Now that you have seen me,
I must give one wish to you.
So, tell me the desires of your heart
and I'll make your dreams come true."
-
"I never had a little girl.
I only had one son,
I could never have another.
Could you really give me one?"
-
"Riches, I can give with ease,
and for them, there is no price.
But to give you a little girl
takes a special sacrifice."
-
So saying, she began to spin,
faster and faster, she did whirl.
And when the spinning ended,
there stood a beautiful little girl.
-
She said, "My name is Taisha,
I was once a unicorn.
But because you really wanted me,
God allowed me to be born."
-
So, now I have my little girl,
she's as special as can be,
because that loving Unicorn
became a girl for me.
