She took him to see Santa,
a very special treat.
Every child loves Santa.
they worship at his feet.

But when they came face to face,
instead of bowing down,
he introduced his Mother,
as though she wore a crown.
-
"Santa! Here's my Mommie!"
he announced with pride.
And Mother felt a special thrill,
way down deep inside.-

A mother holds a special place
in the heart of her son,
until he grows and falls in love
with his one and only one.

Then Mother takes a back seat,
which is as it should be,
but, this mother remembers when,
Santa was introduced to me!

I really don't think Santa
was impressed with what he saw,
but it thrills me to remember when
my son looked at me in awe!
