Heaven's Poet

-

There is a poet in Heaven,

At least one, that we know of.

For she left a happy home on earth

for a better one above.

-

She left us here on earth one day,

As silently she stole away.

Audubon Poets will miss her here,

Where her poetry spread lots of cheer.

-

She left us with her treasure,

And we're blessed beyond all measure;

And we'll not forget her talent, wit and smile;

For we stored it in our hearts and in our file.

-

We know our loss was Heaven's gain;

And so from grief we must refrain;

Committing her to our Savior's love,

in His great Mansion up above.

-

They gave her peace and relief from pain

As the Angels sang a sweet refrain,

To welcome her through Heaven's door

To dwell on high for ever more.-
