Common Sense and Caring

How can this be?

In America,

The land that I love?

We fight for the rights of Sadam,

A ruthless, despotic killer,

While snuffing out the lives

of innocent unborn!

We treat terrorists with respect

as we starve to death - - -

A young woman, unable to speak for herself.

~~ Food and water ~~

~~ basic needs to all ~~

~~Are proclaimed to be extraordinary measures ~~

We weep at the death of insurgents

in foreign lands

and shrug our shoulders

as Teri lies,

tongue swollen, wasting away.
