I once wrote a poem about Spring
in which I said, and I quote . . .
-
The sights and sounds and smells of Spring
Cause hearts both young and old to sing.
It seems the years just melt away
and I feel I'm sweet sixteen today.
-
(I was fifty something - - time changes things.)
-
Now, I'm knocking on 70's door
and I feel sixteen no more.
Now, the sights and sounds and smells of Spring
make me wish I felt sixteen.
Your poetry dives into a person's subterranean being, and yet, it is lighthearted and delightful.
